DepEd Region 8: Working as One

DepEd Region 8 participants worked their way to success as ONE team during the Project Synergy integration program.

59 DepEd Non-Teaching Staffs of CitySavings Project Synergy's Region 8 batches 1 and 2 converged for an integration program to establish the essence of one team last September 07 at R-NEAP DepEd 8 Regional Office, Candahug, Palo, Leyte.

The integration is a customized team development initiative to promote inter-group and inter-department collaboration among the DepEd participants. It is designed to reinforce the learning and insights gained during the Project Synergy program and promote the sharing of best practices and application of the Playing to Win Concept.

"This integration program doesn't end here because the real challenge is for us to apply and share what we've learned to other members," said Regional Director Luisa Yu as she encouraged her constituents to share their experiences to those who weren't able to attend the program.

DepEd Region 8 comprised of four teams namely Blue Sky, Phyton, Tarzan and Team Azkals. Each team experienced the activities of Over Under Through, Beeping Square, Moon Ball and Landmines set by RAFI facilitators to challenge the participants' decision making and problem solving skills.

RAFI envisioned the program not as a ground for competition between teams but rather as a learning tool to have a unified direction in achieving team goals despite working in different teams. As emphasized by RAFI facilitators, the practice of Playing to Win is not about beating someone in reaching a goal.

The rotational activities served as an avenue to leverage the cooperation and communication skills of the participants to appreciate the diversities among the members and convert these diversities into strengths.

"Thank you to CitySavings for letting us experience this integration, even just for a day, I've learned a lot of insights. It's not about the age nor the position but it's what we can do better as a team", said accounting assistant director Atty. Rhoan L. Orebia as she shared her experience about the program.

The integration was also attended by the CitySavings Region 8 branch business heads spearheaded by their regional business head Adrian Ruiz. The program also aims to cement a good relationship among the stakeholders of the bank.

Anchored on the belief of "We can do well, by doing good", CitySavings will continue in championing education related Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives as a way to give back to the communities where the bank operates.
