City Savings Bankers Commit to Expand Possibilities and Break New Grounds


City Savings Bankers face a challenging year but are very eager to expand possibilities and break new grounds.

City Savings Bankers are up for a challenging year as they committed to take the bank's performance to greater heights in line with this year's annual Sales Rally theme, "Expanding Possibilities, Breaking New Grounds!" last January 20 and 21 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Cebu City.

The said event brought together all sales and operations heads, as well as the bank's group heads and management team nationwide to present and tackle key initiatives and action plans for 2017. President and CEO Catalino Abacan officially welcomed all the attendees on Day 1 and talked about the bank's strategic direction. It was followed by the group heads as they presented their respective corporate updates and initiatives, these were: AVP Financial Controller Barry Baya, VP Human Resources and Quality Head Maila Quijano, AVP Technology Management Head Bong Tiamzon, VP Central Processing Services Head George Allera, FVP Branch Operations Head Linda Flor Hortezano, Reputation Management Head Paula Viegelmann – Ruelan, VP Business Process Management Head Silvia Inoc, Chief Compliance Officer Atty. Candy Seguerra, Associate Legal Counsel Atty. Christian Cabahug, VP Chief Risk Officer Gerry Guillen, FVP Chief Auditor Anna Gatbonton, and AVP Safety and Security Head Ayie Gibe.

A highlight for the day was "minute to win it" inspired teambuilding activity where sales and operations regional teams went head to head with each other. Northern Mindanao Team comprised of Regions 9, 10 and 13 was declared the winner.

Board Member Romy Ronquillo and EVP for Channel Management Levi Villanueva capped the day by expounding on major bank innovations and encapsulating the essence of customer service respectively during their inspirational talks. On the other hand, VP Marketing Harry Abellana gave quick pointers in preparation for the regional presentations the next day.

Day 2 started with a recap of last year's performance and the overall Sales and Marketing strategy presented by FVP Sales and Marketing Head Bombi Dominguez. It was then followed by the regional presentations of each Regional Business Heads who discussed their projections and action plans to achieve the 2017 loan releases budget. Chairman of the Board Eugene Acevedo inspired everyone as he shared personal success stories and highlighted significant milestones of the Bank for the past years. The second day ended with the annual team awards recognizing significant team accomplishments in 2016.

The annual event is a collaborative effort of Sales and Marketing, and Reputation Management teams with other corporate support units.
